Ok, this is going to be a loooooooong journal, so lets start at the start.

Ben 10 Alien Force-

The series shwos a good bit of promise, but is hampered by trying to throw out all sorts of new stuff without any explination. Also, coule they shove the GwenxKevin down our throats more forcefully? (no) And there is no explination how it happened. It's like they just threw it in for the fans! Also, what happened to Kevin's alien powers? Now all he does is absorb stuff and use it to change his body's composition. I can understand why he can absorb sutff, but still, why not use his other powers? Also, Gwen. He energy used to be blue, and what happened to saying the spells out loud? Also, did her magic get weaker? She used to be able to do a lot more. All in all, the series shows a lot of potential, but it's hampered by rushed and sloppy writing.

And what happened to the themsong? It's a minor peeve, but since when did kid's shows no longer require a theme song and became snooty 'theme songs are beith us' shows? I'd even have settled for a remix!

Now, for the important part of the show, the new aliens. The three so far are interesting, and are sort of combinations of previous aliens. I'll review each individualy.

Swampfire (Heatblast+Wldvine): Enhanced strength, the ability to regenerate, and burrow though the ground, he seems to be a weak version of wildvine at first with regeneration thrown in, but he's also got the ability to blast fire. Well, throw small fireballs at least. For the first alien to premeire, it does pay tribute to how Heatblast was first, so he gets a fireblaster first, but not quite. Swampfire doesn't throw heat blast, just small fireballs. All in all, I'd give him a 6/10 for sheer endurance and utility.

Echo (Ditto + ?): Echo at first seemed to be a Ditto clone, but there are two big differences. First, Echo's coppies have to do the same thing he did. Unlike Ditto, who can move independently of each other and set up tricks and combos, Echo is limited to the same move over and over again untill the lead starts a new sequence. He also posesses sonic blasts. Overall he gets an 8/10 for being strong, usefull, and a clever idea (most coppiers can move independantly after all with their powers.)

Humongosaur (Fourarms + Waybig): Continuing the proud tradition of muscle aliens who's names are two words smushed together, Humongosaur is the teams current powerhouse. 8' tall at the shortest, he can grow to abut 20' aparently. He's tough, strong, and can varry his size at will. He's not the strongest or the biggest of Ben's muscle guys, but he's certanly the most versitile. 8/10


Contest:

Ok, since I've just ranted about Ben10, I'm holding a Ben10 OC contest! Two catagories to enter. Bur first, the general rules:

1) No infringing copyrights of any frachize or persons origional work. I don't care if they pass tat retarded Orphan bill. If they came up with it first and it's obvious you coppied it, you're disqualified.

2) Keep all content PG-13 at worst. R or (Heaven help us) X work is imediatly disqualified.

3) Only one entry per category, but you can enter both categories.

4) All art medium welcome, be they stories, pictures, photomanips, sprites. ect.

5) Note me your entry with the heading Ben10 OC: Human/Alien (depending on the category you wish to enter)

Human OC:

Create a human charecter for the Ben10 universe. They can be a normal that gt's involved in adventures, somebody who works with alien tech, a master criminal, a person with powers, as long as it's human. Three restrictions though.

1) No marry-sues

2) No Omnitrix without a REALLY good explination. And I mean really good. If you think you're the first person to 'find the second Omnitrix', you've never looked at other Ben10 OCs have you? It's the most populer thing to do. And they all think they're so clever.

3) No Human/alien hybrids. This is the HUMAN category. These belong in the Aliens catagory.

Alien OC:
Got an idea for somthing from beyond the stars? Freind or foe? Omnitrix form or visitor to the world? The strictest judged category, simply due to the almost limitless potential for thiscategory. Some Rules do apply though.

1) No marry-sues/ultimate lifeforms. It ain't going to win.

2) No remakes of famous alien species from other ganeras. It doesn't matter if it looks different, it's still a coppy of a Vulcan if it mind melds, has hyper logic, is empathic, has pointed ears, and is a pacifist phylosipher species.

3) I'll be judging on 3 things. Creativity, usefullness, and well developed. A super powerful charecter that's not very creative or well developed won't win.
